Ufone
· Introduction
Pak medium Mobile restricted or Ufone (Urdu: یوفون) may be a Pakistani GSM cellular service supplier. It was the third mobile operator to enter the Pakistani market. It started its operations beneath the brand of Ufone, in Islamabad on January 29, 2001.
PTML is a wholly owned subsidiary of Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited. Following PTCL's privatization, Ufone became a part of the Etisalat in 2006.
Ufone is the smallest GSM mobile service provider and least number mobile service in terms of the subscriber base of 21 million. It has a market share of 13%, least among all four mobile operators.
Ufone has appointed Rashid Khan as its corporate executive United Nations agency was the corporate executive of Mobilink (now Jazz) from 2008 to 2014. Ufone has with success launched its 4G/LTE in February 2019 with a speed of five megacycles per second.
The company commenced its operations, under the brand name of Ufone, from Islamabad on January 29, 2001. Ufone became an area of the Emirates Telecommunication Corporation cluster (Etisalat) in 2006.

Ufone had bid on a five megacycle per second block of 2100 megacycle per second spectrum within the NGMS auction command in early 2014, but because of rising demand and lack of information measure to keep up, in December 2016, Ufone decided to re-farm a portion of its 900 MHz 2G network to 3G (HSPA+), and is now offering 3G over two frequencies to deal with the increasing load on the network. Ufone has only re-farmed their 900 MHz spectrum in Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi/Islamabad, Abbottabad, Sheikhupura and Sialkot.
LTE launchOn 9th February 2019, Ufone launched it's LTE network in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. It has done so using existing NGMS licenses. Ufone plans to launch LTE in Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Multan and Quetta in the coming weeks.
